Every account-signup question is asked of everybody who registers, on exactly the same terms. Two things a studio needs are impossible as a result:
A question that only makes sense about a student someone else is registering — "school and grade", "who may collect them" — still has to be put to an adult signing themselves up.
A question that should be required of a student but not of the account holder. Requiredness is one flag shared by both, so the only way to require an answer for each student enrolled is to demand the same of every adult.
Wanted
On Offerings → Questions → Account signup, each question should carry:
Asked of — everyone registering, or students only (left off the account holder's own "About you" panel).
Required, separately for the account holder and for each student they register. Optional for you, required for every student you enrol, should be expressible.
Notes
Applies to the account scope only. An offering's intake questions are answered once, about the student being booked, so there is no second audience to differ from.
The rules must hold on the guardian's family screen too, where a student is added after signup.
Existing questions must come out of the upgrade unchanged: asked of everyone, and one that was required stays required of everyone.
